Hello All,

you can change the timezone if you are only a root user.

1) check the present date and time.

[root@localhost]# date

2)Remove the localtime.

[root@localhost]# rm -f /etc/localtime

3) change the timezone

[root@localhost]#ln -s /usr/share/zoneinfo/Asia/Kolkata /etc/localtime

4)Edit the following file .

[root@localhost]# vi /etc/sysconfig/clock
ZONE=”Asia/Kolkata”
UTC=true
ARC=false

save and exit.

5) set the current date and time
[root@localhost]#date date 110215132016 (month day hour min year)

6) see the date.
[root@localhost]date
